We all know that Aaliyah waited 5 years to release her last album. Why did she waited that long

I am not really sure but I would think it was because she wanted it to be great so she took her time and made sure that all of the songs were done in the right keys and everything else, I am not too sure but that is what I am thinking.............R.I.P MY SISTA'

Ummm... Aaliyah is not alive anymore. So, I'm pretty sure it wasn't up to her.
She passed in 2001, she had an album that came out right before she passed. And a tribute album soon after. This one is some unreleased stuff that they just decided to go ahead and put out.

Sweetie I hate to be the one to break it to ya but Aaliyah died about 5 years ago. This album is just a collection of her unreleasd songs. RIP Babygirl
