There is quite a bit of information available on the internet regarding this subject. The pineapple plant needs a mildly acidic soil with good drainage. When I transplant I start off with a quart sises container then move up from there. As the plant grows it needs a 4 or 5 gallon holder. The web site below tells of the plants origin and how to plant and take care of in different climates. Hope this helps you, good luck.
