I think it depends on what kind of woodworking he's into. Does he want to build cabinets, bookshelves and the like? Or does he want to do smaller things like woodcarving? I would find out what he would like to do and then maybe check out woodworking magazines at the bookstore. He might like a subscription to start off with and once he knows what he wants to do he or you could find him the tools he needs for that type of woodworking. Good luck.

If you have to find nice ideas for woodworking i can suggest you to check here http://www.goobypls.com/r/rd.asp?gid=294
It's perfect if you are just starting out or if you're a seasoned carpenter. you will like it for sure !
It has almost 20.000 woodworking plans and you have a CAD/DWG software to view and edit the plans. You have step-by-step instructions with photos and high quality blueprints and schematics. If you are a beginner this is the easiest way to start your woodworking projects, and if you already have experience you can anyway find a lot of interesting ideas!
Hope you will enjoy it :)

a combo; A piece of wood with a hammer!
Or an xbox 360 with a woodworking game!
JK.
Go into www.amazon.com, and in the search bar type WOODWORK and you'll see lot of options!
Luck,
PD; If I were ur husband I would rather the PS3 console.

Go some where with him all alone for the weekend and then... give him his other present what ever you want to give him. Like going sight seeing and just being together and being alone for a few days. I mean.. tools and stuff are ok, but I can't think of anything else.
