Tell them you have recently discovered you are pregnant--that way you are being up front with them

CONGRATS on the baby!!

I can understand why you're unsure of how to proceed. If they asked you to come in for a second interview, say yes and then tell them then. If they called you into start on the 28th then I would tell them that you need to speak with them before you start. I would make sure to emphasize that you would really like to work there, and mention how part time will be great for after the baby is born and you're excited to work there.

You need to tell them. I really think it would be best if you were honest. Being that you're only two weeks along, you could possibly have a good seven plus months of working for them before maternity leave. They could have no problem with it.

Good luck...both with the pregnancy and the baby!

If there is any chance that you may be working with hazardous materials or equipment, you should absolutely tell your employer, so that the two of you can discuss your job duties and be certain that necessary precautions are taken to protect you. As a dental assistant, consider all of the clinical materials you will be handling, as well as equipment (x-ray). The first trimester is a critical time for proper neurological and spinal development, so take care to be safe at your new job.

No wait!!! I was in the almost the same situation with my third child. I was working for a company and then found out that I was pregnant I thought I had a boss that would understand. It ended up back firing because they found a reason to let me go. They said it was because I had too many doctors appointments. Yea whatever. So my advice is to wait until you have to tell them....like when you are showing and no longer can hide it. It is really none of their business unless you can't do the job because of it. Best of luck hun and congrats.

If your job is safe for you to be doing during pregnancy (and I believe it is, as long as you take proper safety precautions) then there's no reason whatsoever for you to tell your boss right away. Start your job, once you're settled in (I'd give it at least a month) then you can tell your boss when you're ready. You might decide to tell right away, especially if you're not feeling to well, or you could wait as late as the 13th week.
It's illegal for you being pregnant to cause you to lose your job, don't give them a chance to end it before it starts either, you have the right to work!

No you don't need to tell them until you are about 16 - 18 weeks you have plenty of time to let them know ,you want to make sure everything is going well with the pregnancy first. Congrats on the Baby and the New job!!! How exciting!!!!

If you feel that it will get in the way of yor job, you need to tell them, especially where the x-rays are concerned. Get the job offer in writing, they will not be able to not give you the job just because you are pregnant. Wait until you have the offer in writing before telling them. And you don't normally have to tell employers until you are three months gone anyway.

well sometimes..It's best to wait, for a few weeks..just in case of a misscarriage u know? 1st trimester is a worry time for moms 2 be.....if your not going to be on ur feet all the time, just take it easy, and if that would be your work sch. it wouldnt be to stressful on u..but u should tell your boss, and let them know ahead of time..so that way, u could find out about paid maternmity leave or insruance stuff

i am dealing with this same issue. i am 7 weeks pregnant. i debated about whether to tell people and was going to wait until 13 weeks. BUT this week i got soooo sick and nauseous and i knew other people could tell. SO i told my co-workers today but my boss is in europe for 6 weeks so i will have to tell him on the phone :( make sure you know the laws and regulations - i think it's illegal to punish you for being pregnant. good luck!

Wait till your about 12 weeks that way you will already be in the job and you can still get the benifits that they offer.

DON'T tell them yet. Wait until you're 13 wks pregnant -- at that time there is much less chance that you will miscarry. Many women wait until then to tell their boss, I did.
