Dude...ez now...1st off the dead and jimi and 60-70's bands.
Dead tunes to know...Touch of Gray was the only Dead song to ever chart on billboard...Truckin' is by far there most recoinable song as far as air play. Uncle John's Band, Eye's of the World and Broken Down palace are a few of my favs.
Jimi Hendrix...Purple Haze, Cross Town Traffic, Stone Free...he has considerable more hits...

OK, Jimi Hendrix isn't from the 80's. The Dead had an album out in the 80's, but they aren't 80's, either. As far as songs by Hendrix:
