she probably just said that to scare you, I don't see how that would make a difference if you had many sexual partners. You should see a doctor to check if either you or your partner is infertile. also ask what you can do to maximize the chance of pregnancy

Not because you slept around...now there are certain STD's you could unknowingly have that could make getting pregnant much more difficult. Check with your doctor.. you could actually have an STD and not even know it.

Taken from Fertility Journal Online:
Many of the sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) most likely to affect fertility are the least likely to cause any discomfort or exhibit any symptoms. In these cases, women often feel no pain to let them know they might have an STD. Symptoms of STDs can include inflammation and abnormal discharge.

Gonorrhea and chlamydia can do permanent damage if not treated, and can eventually lead to pelvic inflammatory disease (PID). Other STDs that can affect fertility are ureaplasma, mycoplasma, and human papilloma virus. PID can result in pelvic or abdominal pain, and severe, untreated infection has been linked to cervical and other cancers, chronic hepatitis and cirrhosis of the liver. PID is one of the major causes of infertility among women of reproductive age. A woman is at a greater risk for infertility the more times she experiences PID. Fortunately, many STDs are treatable with antibiotics.

Abby's answer is incorrect. Sleeping around CAN absolutely have something to do with inability to conceive, but usually only if you've contracted a venereal disease like syphillis, gonorrhea, or herpes. These diseases can damage reproductive tissue and, if not treated, lead to sterility and even insanity.
It could also be the result of damage from trauma due to "forced sex" or other brutal forms of intercourse, which may damage structures required for conception. Not saying you're a "victim"...just giving the info!!

Good luck!!!

Many women do not know they have a STD until they have their pap. Believe it!
Increased sexual partners increase your chance of getting a STD. I am talking sex without a condom. Repeated STDs do make it more difficult to get pregnant.
In your case it could be a bunch of different reasons so don't beat yourself up for experimenting with different partners when you were young. Relax, and I hope you do have kids.

Your friend is right. Sleeping around can cause infertility in that you can develop endometriosis or pelvic inflammatory disease. You can get a venereal disease and not know about it for years - until you try to become pregnant and can't because your fallopian tubes are blocked with scar tissue.

I doubt it. I'm sure there are STDs that can make you infertile, but if you don't have one, I can't imagine why sex by itself would make a woman infertile. (But I'm certainly no expert)

Have you been to a doctor yet about your infertility? They can run all sorts of tests on you and your husband (could be his "fault" just as much as yours) and find out what's wrong, if anything.

dont worry.im not sure,, but i really dont think thats true. i mean, if you think practically, what exactly about sleeping around with many guys would prevent you from having children. if you were on birth control for all those years, it could be harder for you to get pregnant, try talking to your doctor about it, im sure she knows if the two can be connected. good luck on your pregnancy, i know how hard it is and it can be really painful sometimes. stick in there!

well actually sleeping with a lot of people can't make you infertile. but getting certain diseases can. go to your gyno and get checked thoughly. you can have PID, or HPV , or chlymidia, and not even know it. Those CAN make you infertile

it's not about the kids, but it's been proven that women who've had several sex partners are more prone to cervical cancer later in life.
