What are peoples views on the Honey & Billy storyline in Eastenders? Do you think someone would react like that or do you think its over the top

Every new mum acts completely different to these situations. I speak from experience. My daughter has Downs Syndrome and I was exactly like Honey when she was born. I personally think she needs to seek medical advice from a psychologist. I did and it really helped.

I think it's a really heart rending story line (I was really choked last night when Billy pretended he was going to abandon Petal) and I am sure the parents of the lovely little girl involved would not have let her take part if they did not think the portrayal was accurate. I saw them on This Morning a few weeks ago and they were happy with the way it's being done so I don't think there is anything more important than that.
I have two children and I really don't know how I would have reacted if either was born with Downs. I can't imagine how parents must feel and we have to rely on programmes like Eastenders to make us aware of these issues.

I think that so far the story has been beautifully portrayed and yes, I do think that a lot of people who have babies that are not what they were expecting are bound to feel a certain amount of loss and grief...I do not think that Billy would give up Petal...and I wonder if the GP would consider them for putting up the baby for adoption when Billy had recently been at his wits end trying to get the GP to talk Honey out of considering putting Petal up to be adopted....It is a gripping and is portrayed with feeling and understanding of a very sensitive subject.

It's way over the top. Then again Honey isn't the smartest character in the show so it's feasible that she would react like that because Petal doesn't fit into her fluffy pink fairytale way of thinking. It's getting on my nerves though, wish they would just get rid of the baby or all three of them now.

Noone will know if thats over the top or not then the people who have been through it, it does look as though Honey hasn't accepted the idea and she has post natal depression, which noone has approached her about. Personally I think it is very well done, but I have never gone through it.

I think it's fairly realistic. A friend of mine had a Down's Syndrome baby and she didn't know there were any problems until she gave birth.

She really struggled to deal with it and was diagnosed with clinical depression - two years later she's starting to come to terms with the situation. In a lot of ways I think it's the shock more than anything

i think its a bit over the top..why cant someone have a baby in a soap and it be normal. like normal birth, baby okay. i think some women would react that way. but the plot line is very silly.

I am not sure. But i guess some mothers must react like that but in the end its their child.
