Bought a low-mileage convertible Z28 with LS1 that is "fairly" fast. I drive it like it's a 4-cylinder. Previously had L98 "Iroc" when I was younger that I thought was fast but wasn't. Just wore everything out (trans, tires, rear end) trying to go fast and wasted a lot of gas, getting tickets. I know now that if I floor my present car all the time I'll do the same. So I have to ask what good it is to have a fast car? Can't use the speed or you'll tear it up sooner, eventually.

People in 4-cylinder ricers want to race and think they've blown me away, while they burn 2x the gas of my V8 and tear up their clutches and transmissions.

To the guy who says his Corrado is "built to be revved" - I disagree. ***ALL*** of the manufacturers build these things **AS CHEAP AS THEY CAN** or they wouldn't be in business - so I contend that NONE OF THEM are "built to rev." They're "built to be cheap as possible"

IT LOOKS GOOD AND YOU CAN ALWAYS GO TO A TRACK TO RACE.

It depends.

My 1994 Supra is under construction, as I'll like to make into a nice "track", show and cruise car.

Its true, "back in the good old days",it was street racing (87 Supra T) but now I'll keep it in the track (avoid tickets, car impounded, ect ect).

I'll buy a powerful car, just got to know what you want to do.
Go 200mph and have 50 cop cars after you (NFS: Most Wanted) or join a club and head out to the track?

Racing is just fun.I love it.If you maintain your car it will last .z28s are fast ,they keep up with my LS2 corvette, wont win but they give a good run.If you want a car with good gas mileage that's quick ,that you can run the piss out & it won't break get a honda S-2000 or similarZ-4 cost a little more but you get what you pay for.

WELL I THINK MAYBE YOU SHOULD CONSIDER A FOUR CYLINDER THEN. SOME CARS ARE BUILT TO TAKE THE ABUSE. I CAN REDLINE MY VW CORRADO BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT IT WAS BUILT TO DO. AS FAR AS WEARING OUT TRANS AND TIRES, DON'T PEEL OUT AND DON'T CRUNCH YOUR GEARS. CARS ARE TOYS TO SOME PEOPLE. I DON'T SPEED IN TOWN BUT I CAN ALWAYS DRIVE ON DOWN TO THE DRAG.

hi i'm sorry to declare i do no longer think of you're able to do something. it particularly is obvious that the motor grew to become into no longer outfitted for speedier's (particularly twin turbos). in case you bypass including capability adders like that there are particular issues a motor has to have. One could be an inter cooler (do no longer understand in the event that they further this) the warmth turbos produce they could over warmth the motor. 2nd could be low compression with the aid of fact the speedier's packs the motor crammed with gas/air and with to severe of a compression ratio it properly blow out the jewelry (which sounds like what surpassed off), putting to lots perisher on the bearings additionally. you are able to no longer purely throw severe capability on a motor with out doing stuff to the interior. Ask your new mechanic/save in the event that they can assist you in a courtroom conflict with reference to the undesirable installation of your turbos to attempt and recoup a number of your $$$ and that i could guess they are going to say no. yet i need to be incorrect.. it relies upon on if the hot save is honest.. good success tim

well i would say that people buy fast cars number one because it puts off a high class image. it gives people a sense of pride and belonging to own one these fast powerful vehicles. also, it can be very useful to be in traffic and be able to accelerate quicky with the flow of traffic, or just to be able to gain enough speed just to pass someone
