It takes from 5-7 days for baby to implant after fertilization, at this point your body doesn't know you are pregnant because baby has not implanted yet. Once implantation occurs the placenta starts releasing the hcg which can be detected in a HPT about 8-10 days.

For some people, as soon as the first missed period. But if the baby took its time to implant, or your ovulation day was off, it could take longer. Try 1 week after your missed period, then once more 2 weeks after your missed period. I know its hard to be patient, but false negatives suck.

i tested positive 2 weeks after conception but it may take longer for diffrent people but it wont hurt to try...my line was very faint but she is 5 years old now!!
