Or just sitting on the floor or where ever you wanted no seat belts, I agree now days you need them but back then 70s-80s you really didn't.

I haven't thought of that in years...but yeah, I remember that. My parents used to drive all over the country, and I'd lay in the back window of my parents' Dodge Polaris (that car was HUGE) and play with my toy soldiers, cowboys and indians...and let's not forget my Evil Knievel and GI Joe's.

I can literally remember my mother stuffing the seat belts into the backseat so they wouldn't be in my way when I laid down to read or take a nap.

Just barely remember.
Good question though... accessing deep memories, cool! :))
I think it was in a Duster where the back seat folded down.
I recall wanting to go down roads that had lots of trees so I could watch the branches and leaves 'dance' with the sunlight.
At night seeing the stars was nice on the country roads.
Sitting in the front seat...when approaching a stop the driver would just hold back the passenger at about the collar bone.
Can't even imagine not wearing a seat belt now... just crazy!
Thanks for the faint recollection exercise! :)

DO I? That was my favourite spot! But I never stayed in one place longer than about five minutes. Climbing back and forth over the front seat was fun too. Used to see how many times I could do it before mom got mad.

Ahhhhhhhh, the good ol' days.

Oh yeah, I remember doing that... why was that allowed?
I would use the bump in the middle of the floor in the back seat as a pillow!

Oh Snowy, I remember & those were the days. I wish they'd quit telling us what to do in our cars, our homes, or everywhere else that 'they' got no business medling with.

I also remember my grandfather's car & the look grandma wore whenever he showed off the rumble seat. I didn't know why she got all misty eyed back then, but I do now & it only tells me how much those two were in love.

I do I remeber going up to my Grandmas laying in the back of my parents station wagon looking at all the stars seeing if we could find the big and little dipper and other stars, it was great.

Well I was'nt even conceived yet, but when I was a little kid my mom had this station wagon that had one row which would face backwards out of the big back window...then she got rid of it because the car was crappy...

Ahh, those were the days. It seemed like back then there were no cares in the world. I know we were little and to us, there weren't, but you know what I mean. It didn't seem like there were as many problems then as now. Maybe, it's just me.
