A dangerous question... but I'll give you a straight answer
Stop and think of a world with a talking dog.... that only Shaggy can really understand... a group of people riding along in the green machine... stopping to eat such large amounts of food (in a single bite no less)... the constant giggling... seeing really wierd things...
Scooby dooby doo..... is a drug cartoon... it depicts a life of pot smoking hippies

Scooby Dooby Doo, or Scooby Doo - "Scooby Doo" is indeed the old nautical term for scuba gear, and his middle name "Dooby" refers to, of course, reefer.
Whether or not there is any definition to Shaggy's name or not I do not know, or Scrappy "Dappy" Cornelius Doo either.

"Scooby-doo" is British naval divers' slang for "civilian sport scuba diver", its also the name of a popular old cartoon character.
