In the same way that birds somehow detect variations in the Earth's magnetic as they travel and we don't quite know how, so have many different societies discovered that certain energies affect the human body in ways science can't measure or explain properly.
There is ancient wisdom, mostly from the asian nations that supports the statement that sleeping in a particular direction has greater or lesser benefits for our health. The same wisdom that can be applied to keeping electronic gadgets and transformers away from ourselves when sleeping (mobile phone chargers plugged in next to the bedside table, etc.)
How about those magnetic bracelets we are sold to minimize the pain of arthritis, or those that get used for other medical purposes? If they work, then so might taking a bit of care in placing our beds.
I've been taught that different people get better results sleeping in different directions; head towards the East to receive energy from the rising sun and so on. Supposedly I am better off with my head to the south, but that isn't a practical set up in my house, so I make do with "lesser quality sleep".

There are Hindu traditions saying that you should not sleep with your head pointing to the North magnetic field. Anything else is
okay.

It doesn't make any difference at all. If it did you can bet your bottom dollar builders and others would have cottoned on to it long ago and made a mint. Hot chocolate at bedtime to make you sleep is another myth as it contains caffeine which keeps you awake.
