I had sex on Nov. 3rd and right after my boyfriend and I had sex I felt sick and i thought i was going to vomit. well i have been feeling that way for a week now and I'm starting to wonder because my lower stomach is swollen and it makes growling noises when im not hungry. my boobs are tender, i have been getting really bad headaches, and my lower back aches. I also have cramps and im bleeding a little bit of brown stuff. I just got off my pills 3 days ago. Could it be the pills? I have one more question. I didn't take my pills for 2 or 3 days a couple days before my boyfriend and me had sex. Do pills stop working?

If you don't take the pills then they are not effective. Try taking a pregnancy test to see if you are pregnant. I can't tell from here!

Sweetie, You don't get "morning sickness" the day after you have sex, if it was close to your time of the month and you got off the pill because of it more than likely since you are bleeding and cramping and bloated that your body is trying to start your period. You need to continually stay on top of taking your pills if you are bad about remembering ask your doctor for the ortho evra patch,you put it on once a week and forget about it until the next week you change it... Since you were off of your pills for two or three days your body is thinking it is time to start, so you might need to make an appt with your gyn. just incase something else is wrong... That way she can tell you why your body is doing this also... Pills can stay in your system for 24 hours it is good if you miss it to take them within 24 hours.

There's no way the initial sickness was due to being pregnant, unless you got pregnant a few weeks earlier! Sounds like you just had a virus, maybe a stomach flu.
When are you supposed to get your period? Pregnancy tests don't work until after you've missed your period (even the "early response" ones that claim to work up to 5 days before your missed period aren't that accurate). If you are at least a few days after you're regular period should be, then take a pregnancy test.
Even when taken exactly at the same time every day, the pill isn't 100 percent effective. But if you don't take them, they do stop working. Even missing one pill increases your chances of getting pregnant.

Missing multiple pills in the third week of your pack is not a good thing if you are trying to avoid pregnancy. Pills, when taken before their expiration date and having been stored at room temperature, should not stop working. The key phrase in that sentence is "when taken". They can't help you sitting in the package.
However, if you did miss them, that could also be causing a lot your symptoms. You weren't getting your normal dose of hormones that your body has come to expect at a given time, and now you're in withdrawal.
So unfortunately I can't say if you are pregnant. Take a home pregnancy test, and if your symptoms don't go away, talk to your doctor.

Yes, the pills will stop working thats why if you miss a day or two you have to make up for it.
You wouldn't be having those symptoms right after you had sex, it usually takes about 2 or 3 weeks.
But to be on the safe side buy a pregnancy test.

You are prob not pregnant. I would take a preg test to be on the safe side. When you miss your pills you can mess up your menstrol cycle. Normal bc is 3 wks hormones and 1 wk non hormones, this is when you are on your peroid, So when you did not take your pills for a few days, your body did not get hormones and their for probaly starting to get your period. So you should always take your pills. Another is you do not feel preg right after sex either. Just check to see when your last period was and see if you are due ..

I think you are being abit paranoid, you would not start to get a swollen stomach this early on and it takes up to a week to actually be pregnant. You might have a bug, and if you don't take your pill the pill don't work

some of the symptoms you describe look like pregnancy , but toooo early to tell. you have to wait till for a while and get tested at home. why exactly did you stop the pills just before this?
