In the event of the war in Iraq being a total failure (fragmented Iraq), and as a result of the carnage it has caused, the hundreds of thousands killed by the bombing, the destruction of the country, due to the fact that the war was illegal in the first place and not sanctioned by the U.N., should the World Court in the Hague bring criminal proceedings against the instigators of the war, i.e. Bush, Blair, and other political leaders involved?
I think there's a huge public perception out there that those responsible will have to answer for their crimes.

Don't worry about that. Osama Bin Laden has promised to establish a base for action in Iraq after the US troops leave. So New York is the next place to be bombed, because you voted Democrat. Believe it.

The U.N. would never do such a thing. One cannot pin
the the blame on any particular person. They would have to
investigate the entire administration behind the war.The
situation before the war was critical. Our homeland was
attacked and our leaders felt an obligation to follow the
presidents war policy. If you remember the latter part of
the Clinton term there was a proposal to go into Iraq. There
was such opposition by the American people that they
squashed the idea very quickly. The current administration
is shrouded in secrecy and will not be held accountable
for their actions.Have you noticed the laws they have passed
during the past six years ?.The laws that take away our
own freedoms and protect government officials.I hope that
this helps you out...read 'the patriot act' entirely.

That I'm afraid could never happen even if a mass outcry were to be sung by the population. How could we put democracy on world trial, that in itself would be seen by the worlds Muslim population as a very strong sign that the West are unsure of there own policy and future plans for the middle-east.

What I find most annoying is the fact that those within the Western world who have been given the liberty to shout "Troops out, from Iraq" do in fact not quite see the bigger picture that we would all face if we started to put on trial our Governments.

The Muslim world would see the extraction of Coalition forces as a great sign of weakness, and that anyone who is determend to partake in protracted warlike operations will eventually win. A trial of our leaders would start something that would run totally out of control..............

The Americans will face world humiliation by all those that hate the USA for whatever reason. And how long would it be before we start to see uprising after uprising in other Muslim countries that normally would be quite passive and be happy to sit on the sideline observing the Iraq conflict. The price that the west will pay if troops were pulled out and Governments put to trial by media will result in a total break down in the world community.

No. I hate Bush but I am quite sure that while he was determined to go to war, he had "yes men" telling him what he wanted to hear. The U.S. is in a horrible position. If we get involved we're the bad guy. If we don't get involved, we're still the bad guy. Personally, I'd say screw everyone else and let's take care of the issues in our own country (Health care, homeless, economy, etc) but some believe that we must take the lead where we can, even when it means being the bad guy.
