I agree that you need vitamin c. lots of it.
but, you people are forgetting echinacha and zinc, too!
there are zinc lozenges that i use when i have a cold or sore throat.
with the echinacha, it is best to take it several times through out the day. i would suggest 2-3 capsules 3 times a day. same with the vitamin c, take it several times through out the day, not just once in the morning or something.
stay healthy!
PS.
wash your hands regularly, drink water all the time, and be preventive next time: as soon as you feel like you could be getting sick start with the c, zinc and echinacha!!

This works for me all the time. I get sick a lot! I take night Quill at nigt and day Quill during the day for about 2 days vitamin C and sleep as much as possinble on the 3rd day I feel soo much better.

.. I have never found taking vitamin C "after" getting a cold,.. to be of any help at all. ... I have also read that it does no good towards getting rid of the cold. .. It may be helpful towards preventing a cold,.. but not after you have it.
... I would recommend that you go to a licensed acupuncturist who also practices Chinese herbology. Chinese medicine can alleviate a cold over night and without any toxic side effects. I have experienced this myself on a number of occaissions.

1000mg of Vitamin C twice daily and 1 tablet of Zinc twice daily (for immunity), drink a lot of water, take Mucinex or Mucinex-DM teice daily (break down mucous), apply Vicks before bedtime (to breathe easily at night)
