Insufficient information to provide an answer, as the quesiton is too generic. What exactly is meant by a "modem number"?

In general a "modem number" is the telephone number it is attached to, but then if the user connected the modem to the phone line, the user would know what number it is.

If the user meant the IP number assigned by the ISP once the user has gotten online, the user should have specified "IP number", as it has nothing to do with the modem.

If the user mean the model number of his/her modem, s/he could have just said so, and the usual answer "look on the bottom or the back" will apply, but that isn't a "modem number".

Thus, this question is impossible to answer, at least not without more detail info.

Start>Control Panel>Network Control Settings>(need to be an Administrator) >Open that and its there, or right click Network and Dial Up Connections, Properties and it should be listed.
There is also a # on the Physical Modem.

I have a Speedstream 5100. The name Speedstream is on front of modem (dsl) and the name and number is on the underside of the modem.

Hope that helps.

Are you talking the IP address or the Mac Address?

To fond both you want to go to command prompt (start > run type cmd) and type in ipconfig /all

you ip address is 4 sets of numebrs. here's an example. 192.168.1.1 (These numbers can change)

your mac address (also called physical address) is 6 pairs of numbers (0-9) and letters (A-F).
this is an example. (these can also change)
