Mine did the same thing when I turned 19. I'm 20 now, about to turn 21. Before I would bleed like a stuck pig for 7-10 days. My gyn attributed it to my reproductive system maturing and my hormones leveling out. It's not unusual for your cycle to change dramatically throughout your life.

Your body and hormones will change so much in your 20's...dont be alarmed. Your period will change throughout your life. What happened to your body when you were younger, may not happen 2 years later. If you stop having your period at all...then you need to go to the doctor. But please do know that when you turn 18 is when you should see your gyno even if you are not having sex. Make sure you are getting your yearly tests done. That will help prevent everything from cervical stuff to breast stuff!!!

I would go to your doctor. I'm not sure that anything should cause you to shorten so much at your age. Your period should be longer than three days, though....unless you are taking the new birth control. The only way to find out what is happening definitively is to go to the doctor. Good luck! It may just mean you need to work out or eat right.

It may be the change in diet or stress.. but you should go see your GYN. You may need birth control to regulate. It is not normal to have such a shory period unless you are already on a form of birth control, which shortens your menstrual cycle.

Mine did the same thing. I'd say it's normal for it to flucuate.
