Remember that long ago Mick Jagger regarded the Beatles as a "Four-Headed Monster". That means that all of them were great. There is no better Beatle than another. The question should be: "Who is your favourite Beatle?". My favourite one is and always be John Lennon. Thank you!!!

Lennon and McCartney were undoubted songwriting geniuses. But I'd like to put my vote for the 5th Beatle, George Martin. Massive influence on the Beatles' sound.

I loved them all but my favorite was/is Ringo. He was the most down to Earth and least talented Beatle. I know a guy who was a neighbor of Ringo's family in Liverpool; they were really poor and had no bathroom in their house in a low income housing project.
The most brilliant were: John, George and Paul. Not sure who was better but what a band!
Several years ago Ringo did a documentary on Liverpool for the BBC. It is a wonderful program if you can get it on DVD, not sure.

They were all great and they were even greater together than the sum of their parts.
I think Paul was the most talented but because of his clean cut image he hasn't been given enough credit for his genius in my opinion. Pretensious critics like their geniuses to be tormented souls who die young and that's probably why a lot of critics rate John Lennon as the best Beatle.
