I have never had the pleasure of using AIM but I'm told it is a pain in the ****! I would've thought that more people use MSN, so go for that.

MSN is the best quality, but a lot more people are connected to aim. personally, i have all of them, msn, yahoo, and aim.

YAHOO! It depends on who you want to talk to. Talk with your friends and family and see who uses what. I have a group of friends that all use Yahoo and its great to be able to talk to them that way. Yahoo also now lets you add MSN useres. Anyway there is trillian and it combines all of them. Its free, just search if you are able to use another.

Of the two........ AIM is better specified (e.g. time stamped messages, doesn't experience or cause as many technical problems, etc)....... but YAHOO MESSENGER p*sses on both of them in terms of features & reliability (least with Yahoo, if it crashes mid-conversation..... as long as you have message archive switched on, you can check to see where you were before it crashed, and continue where you left off).
