That none of the host really care about the subject or situation they are talking about. I always noticed that Oprah is caught not listening and then tries to make something up or goes to commercial. I've noticed this with many talk shows. How about you?

Yes, they do that....and it is a shame about Oprah too as she used to be one of the better ones around in terms of handling difficult topics intelligently. But generally speaking, you really can only give a TV talk show a year or two at most anymore before the hype *goes to the host's head* and it mutates into the Me, Myself and I show....

Meaning, it becomes a boring mess hosted by Yet Another Ego-Maniac. It almost makes me wonder what would happen if somebody just made the *best, most kickass* talk show ever...

And then just hired some *nobody*, some mediocre, plain-looking *Average Joe* off the street to host it. Meaning, the *show* is the star of the show and not some ego-tripping host.

Nah, never happen. :) Because if the host is *not* ego-tripping he or she then becomes too hard to *control* and your CEOs don't like that so much--case in point, the end of Arsenio Hall's show, which kicked so much tail Paramount felt they had to kill it.

Go figure. ;)

That's so funny. What about ghetto Maury? His show is trash and he acts like this stuff is important.

You are not the father!
