If so, what?

Also, was it really hard for you to go back to work again? Did anyone mention your behavior or did they act like it never happened?

My BOSS did. He got very drunk at the last office "holiday" party. So drunk that he tried to make a Xerox copy of his "private parts" and broke the glass on the copier. Which then, of course, cut his leg so severely and he had to be rushed to the hospital.

Office parties of any type are now banned and he would have been fired except the injury to his leg and the blood loss caused so much damage that he can't walk properly so he got disability. There was actually some talk that his disability lawyer was going to sue the company because they paid for the alcohol served at the party. Instead, He accepted a settlement from the company's insurance carrier.

I see him from time, but there is not much you can say. We don't talk about it at work and we even moved the Xerox room because people didn't want to go back in there. It's just a storage room now.

The bright side is since I was the assistant manager, I was promoted to his job. I still hold office parties but at a restaurant off site. People pretty much behave themselves after that episode.

Yes I did. Won't ever happen again, either. I was drinking with a boss's boss, (we'll call him Frank) and some other bigwig types, and had a little much. You know how you talk louder than you think you're talking when you're drunk? Well, I was having some issues with getting stuff I needed for my office, and leaned over and whispered to a friend "If I sleep with Frank, do you think I can get the stuff I need for my office?" I was joking, of course, but I definitely wasn't whispering like I thought. He overheard, and had the good sense to quip back "Get me your to-do list" with a smile. I nearly fell off my chair with embarassment. I was lucky to be working for someone who knew it was a joke and didn't file sexual harassment charges (we had stated that we were "off the clock'' early in the evening, too). I appreciate his good humor and limit myself considerably when drinking with co-workers now. Some of my closer co-workers have since reminded me that I also puked in the parking lot later on, but the major faux pas has been overlooked, thank the Goddess. It was a lesson learned, I'm just glad I didn't have to learn it the hard way :)

There was a lot of drinking at the company golf outing. Then we went to a bar where some of the gals were groping and kissing each other and a few small fights started. Then we went to a strip club (that was the gals' recommendation) where some got up on stage, and I was kissing and spanking a gal who is married. We enjoy our booze. The following Monday we knew each other a little better.

Yes went to fancy restraunt with company party for "Boss" Day. (whatever you call it LOL) Anyhow there was a cute waiter. He asked What we wanted? I told him I wanted him stuffed and on my desk so I could spend countless hours looking at his cute a**! ( He was in his mid twenties) I know because I asked him after I made the comment. LOL! Then I asked the president of the company which was sitting beside me if we could keep him. He said yes and everyone laughed. The waiter was somewhat shocked at first I think but loosened up after I kept making comments. LOL I was drunk as hell :))
No wasn't hard at all to go back to work,....everyone liked the way I was so open with my thoughts. LOL
They mentioned it occassionally and we would all laugh about it. :)

Nope, but I've seen it and no one mentioned it the next day. I think people in general understand there's bound to be foolish behaviour at office parties if drinking is involved. Everyone, at one time or another, (who drinks) has pretty much made a fool of themself and would know better not to bring it up!

No. It's best not to drink at office parties, for the very reasons that you mentioned.

We all went out to a pool hall and drank and shot pool all night. I ended up in the bathroom hall kissing my boss - who was married and his wife was expecting. He and I were the only ones that knew about it, but it was really hard to go back to work.
