I own a forum: www.ufoworld.tk
and I'm always trying new ways to attract more people to use it, so we can have a larger amount of people talking. So I'm wondering what sort of thing are YOU usually encouraged by when looking at a forum, which makes you want to register and chat away?

Normally, I get attracted to large forums because a lot of people are there to discuss the issues. But since you are starting off, I would say the next best thing are contests. Like whoever posts the most gets a prize. Or register and post 10 times and be included in a drawing. Free stuff in other words.

I own a chat room ... and we have our circle of friends .... we have known each other for many years ... and in person too ...

If I go to another website like for example IVillage.com there are a bunch of forums there and people exchange opinions say on Losing weight, or International adoption, or just vent about their family situation.

It depends what interests me at the present time ...

For me its based on what the forum topic is. I rarely bother with forums that are just general chat, instead using ones that discuss subjects I find interesting.

When I look at new chat rooms, I like to see that they are monitored...no cussing, or hardly any at all as a lot of people find that offensive.

I also like it when I see no pop up ads...those things are the worst!

Depends. What do you discuss on your forum now?
