I'm thinking of getting a HDTV to play my 360 on but it couldn't be any any bigger than a 32", and would have 1000:1 contrast ratio. Because of the size and the contrast ratio would it make much difference when playing compared to a stardard TV, and would it be worth £500 to put it in my room.

Of course it would, any HDTV will make the graphics look much better as the graphics for the games are made from computers themselves so they are going to be very high definition.

Definitely. Another thing to check is what frequencies it can run. It doesn't make that much difference yet, but Dead or Alive 4 only ran on 60hz and maybe others will follow. 32" is brilliant, anything smaller negates the wow factor really. And the contrast ratio is great too. Go for it, £500 is an awesome price!
