No, do not call a lawyer, you need to call an addictions rehab center.
It is a little known fact that once you rip just ONE tag you will become hopelessly addicted to ripping all tags. Sure you'll be fine as long as you have mattresses and pillows in your own house. But soon you will be ripping the tags off your relatives mattresses and pillows, then the neighbors. After you have worn out your welcome there you will be forced to go up to complete strangers on the street and beg them for just the tiniest tear, to tide you over.
The actual cause of the addiction is unknown, and there is no known cure, however you can be arrested. Er, um, that should read the disease can be arrested. There is medical data in support that this addiction may be caused by being on a mattress or pillow when you were young, but due to a heavy diet of religion and guilt, the addict was forced to keep their hands ABOVE the covers, never allowing the natural tendency of the child to feel the tag, later progressing to the adolescent phase of tag development.
I urge you to seek treatment and MA, a 12 step program, Mattress Anonymous. It is next door to another 12 step program, SA, sex addicts anonymous (they do much different things to mattresses) and next door to that is where you will find me. AA, alcoholics anonymous, which I found when I woke up one day and there was NO mattress.
Peace.
DISCLAIMER: There is no MA program, this is entire false hood , do not call directory assistance, unless you want to hear laughter. This message is for the truely lame amongst the general population. If you are not stupid, disregard, if you are stupid, well I probably lost you in the first line anyway.

Thank you for this question it really made me laugh. When I was younger I always thought the police would show up if I cut the tag off.Now I know it is okay to do because it's yours and you can do it if you want to.The tag is suppose to be there only when brand new and at the store.Once at home you can remove it.
