It's a girl thing! You would just have to be one to understand! My husband is always asking the same question!

Honestly, because women (in general) are intensely vain and having nice nails is one way all women (no matter their otherwise physical appearance) can do something to look nicer. Women do notice each other's nails so it is one way to "keep up with the Jonses" and men enjoy the strength and smoothness of the applique nails when their woman is giving them a relaxing head massage, gently scratching through their hair, or playfully scratching their back. But mostly it is vanity.

Women usually dont do things so that men will notice, but so that other women will notice. I think that is a common misconception among men. However, we do want to look nice for men as well. I also think it has to do with the guy, because I know my ex boyfriend always commented if I didnt have my nails painted or done... like I didnt want to look nice for him. So now I always try to have them done when I go on a date as I'm afraid other men may be the same way!

The misconception is that women dress to impress the men, really women dress to impress other women. When we see a fabulous looking woman the first thing we notice is if her game is tight (hair and nails done.)

Hair and nails complete the look.
If not it's like a really nice car without hubcaps.

Do you really think that women get dolled up so that guys notice them? lol NO! It's because women notice them silly. The same reason a guy spends so much money on a car when women dont notice it.

getting our nails done usually has nothing to do with attracting the opposite sex. i love getting my nails done, a hand massage, pedicure, foot massage, and relaxing for an hour or so away from the world.

i don't think any boyfriend i've ever had ever really cared or noticed, but it never stopped me.

i do know a lot of guy friends who think acrylic nails are sexy on a girl, especially when she's doing *cough*cough* things to them

i'm able to, and that i do get a lot of compliments. the element that maximum people like is the entire experience. Who doesnt like a hand message, nail remedies, speaking with 'the girls', and/or popping out feeling helpful with some rather nails? as properly its no longer particularly common to do acrylic (I dont get that finished btw :P) Its additionally the entire theory of being waiting to speculate in issues like that. It supplies women a feeling of fulfillment. (properly it does for me)

My nails make me feel pretty, and I like to coordinate them to clothing, just like jewelry. Also, they're a good place to express my style, whether by their color, design, or whatever. I also feel like longer, well taken care of and decorated nails are a bit exotic when done differently from the norm (in other words, rather than just red or pink or black.)

Believe it or not, it's not all about us! Girls do some things just for themselves. If painting their nails makes them feel good about themselves, I think that's just great. I love a happy woman.

We do? *chewing on my nails*

Other women don't do it for men. They do it for themselves. Some women like long fancy nails. Others, like me, could not care less.

Don't generalize.
