In my opinion, I think you should just go out and buy and antivirus software, because it will give you more features, and it will be more efficent. Trust me, I had a problem with spyware, and downloading a software isn't going to help you a lot. Also most of the time the downloads are only free for about 3 months.

Probably the most popular and a very good free antivirus is AVG; you can download it from http://www.grisoft.com.
Paid or commercial antiviruses like Norton, McAfee, Panda, CA are available for full version trial downloads if would like to try them. http://www.ca.com gives their full version antivirus free as trial for 12 months. http://www.mcafee.com is available for 90-days free trial and Symantec http://www.symantec.com gives Norton 2007 antivirus for 30 days free trial. If you are a user of genuine Microsoft Windows XP, then Norton 2007 antivirus free trial is for 6 months.

You can get free softwares like AVG from www.grisoft.com.
But such softwares are no good...........purpose of virus protection isnt served.
If you can't afford paid softwares like NORTON then try to use cracks for these softwares...........i know its unethical........but the whole world is doing it !
