I heard it was better for her to come to the states; if we marry in the ukrane(lahansk) it could take as long as 6 months--if she comes to the states does she need a k-1 visa and can we marry here once she arrives?

go for the states, i think in Ukraine you need a translator and respect customs imagine it...
you could send her all the documents required and apply for a fiancee visa that's easier to get.
good luck

You can get married in the US... but you can not be considered a citizen just because of that. She will need a visa and permission from her govt. to come here. Bahamas is very beautiful and an excellent place to share your vows. Maybe you should consider the Virgin Islands. It's still considered american in some parts.

are you military? I wouldn't marry anyone from outside the states. I've got plenty of friends that made that mistake. after thier first year here, they were all divorced. was all just to get that visa.

it shouldnt really matter where you marry her as long as you two get married and have a wonderful life together. i mean i see what you are talking about it would be quicker if she came her but if she is worth it then you can wait six months to marry her it shouldnt really matter where you get married.

Yup! Marry her in the U.S, she'll be a citizen if you're citizen and life would be easier for you and her.
