Currently I'm at an 8 to 5 job in IT. I'm curious what other people have done to spend more time with their kids.

If you are in IT, why not try to get on with a corporate call center or a consulting company where you can work nights.

I work in customer support and my company was all too happy to have someone work nights rather than paying out the OT.

Just a possibility.

You could consider starting a home business that you could build while continuing to earn a wage. I think you would be surprised at how quickly it would replace or even surpass your current income.
I have a home business in the health and wellness industry that is marketing a product that is proving to be beneficial to absolutely everyone. It is with a stable, debt-free company and incomes of $10k/mo are definately not unusual provided you put the time and effort into it. It's an excellent business because it has every modern day tool you could need for marketing, an excellent compensation plan and extensive training and mentoring.....but what I like the most, is I have fun doing it and have all the time in the world for my family.

One option is joining call center, which operates on night shift
second option is to look out for a career in manufacturing industry, where they work in 3 shift and u can pick up morning or night shift
Thord option is to look out for an option to work online. I am a part time worker doing work online at home, so I can share my personal experience with you. When u are planning for a home based online work, be very careful because most of them are scam and ask you to pay initial money. never pay money to any such site. Did you ever heard that if u r going for a job and employer ask you for money before hiring? I would like to share a link where you can make $600 in a month working at home. The work need to be done is posting a discussion and answering a discussion. the link is:

if you work smartly, you can even make $1000 or more.. it all depends on your usage pattern. I worked for 2 hour daily last month and i got paid $238 for the last month. Its not bad after all, i am happy and making more. After sign up, do mail me to know the tips on how to increase your earning.

Please let me know, if you have any queries. I will try my best to give you right answer
