I need a van type of taxi or livery service for 4 adults from Liberia to a Samara Beach area resort. Can anyone give a contact in Libreia? We don't speak much Spanish and I am worried about making a taxi or van connection and we leave in a few weeks.

Don't be worried. There are some GREAT transfer services in Costa Rica. Use VacationCity.com - their rates are very reasonable and the vans are nice (and private). All of their drivers also speak English and are very careful.

I just spent a couple weeks down there and this company took me all over the country. No issues, paid in advance, and they always showed up on time. If you email me at aerosynth929@yahoo.com I can give you more information, phone numbers, et cetera.

There are not inexpensive land shuttles directly from the airport but you can contract with a taxi or any number of transportation companies for a driver for around $200+ to go directly from the San Jose airport to Playa de Coco. There are also flights to Tamarindo (near Playa de Coco) but leave late morning and early afternoon and cost about $260 per person. If you stay overnight in San Jose there are a number of services like Interbus.and Graylines that can pick you up at your hotel and take you to Coco beach for about $40--these shuttles usually leave in the morning.
