No real power to intervene. No ability to enforce any of their decisions. The absence of the United States.

The rise of hitler had nothing to do with the League of Nations. There are two main reasons: 1 - Treaty of Versailles - the penalties placed upon Germany were so harsh that the economy could not sustain the people and economic decline, high inflation and devaluation of the DeutscheMark caused high unemployment 2 - as a result of the economic conditions the people sought an avenue to lay blame on someone - Hitler provided several places to lay the blame: Jews, France and Allied powers... Would a powerfl League have stopped Hitler - no. In fact the League supported Japan in its rapid development and failed to curb its military build up for ww2...

Essentially weak because it lacked the ability to enforce any resolution it created, it lacked the United States which was very politically powerful as well as alot of other nations.

It could make resolutions, but it had no power to force any country to do anything.
