well, i guess it all depends on why you're changing it. you just don't like it? why? is it because someone else has it that you dislike? or is there a stereotype associated with it? has someone with a bad criminal reputation ruined the name for you?
you also have to take into account that a new name may develop the same problems. something "in" now may not be so "in" later, and name changing can be a grueling process.
this also puts your friends in an annoying, uncomfortable situation too. people who have gotten used to calling you by your regular name, who think it is just fine, may not understand why you decided to try something new. they may also find it extremely difficult to start calling you kaitlyn after getting used to calling you by your original name, depending on how long they've known you.
try introducing yourself by your middle name, or first initial, or play around with what you already have. make yourself a new nickname and use that for a little while. see if it creates problems, or if you enjoy something new.
then, if you truly decide you want to legally change your name, and decide it will make you happy, then go for it!

kaitlyn is a girls name so u might wanna change ur name to a guys name. but i think garret sounds fine. but if u wanna change it u can.
