Grab a basketball and lay flat on the floor. Stick one hand in the air parallel to the ceiling and place the ball on your hand. Snap your wrist so that the ball rotates straight up in the air and catch the ball with the same hand. If your arm hurts after a little while you are doing it right. Once you get to tired, switch arms. This will help you have the perfect rotation on the ball into the hoop.
Stand in a room. Have your knees shoulder width apart. Start to run in place on the balls of your feet. Be sure your heels don't touch the ground. You want your legs to start to hurt. Once it gets to be to much, (probably 8-12 minutes) you can stop. This will help your foot work during a game.
Okay, lay on your belly on the floor with your hands linked together. Lift your body off the ground and stay there with your back perfectly straight. Make sure your body doesn't touch the floor, (other than your toes and forearms). Make sure your butt doesn't rise. Your back should be straight. This is called "planks" because it looks like someone can walk on your back because it's straight. Do this for at least 1 minute. If you can do longer, do longer. Try to at 10-15 seconds everyday. This helps with concentration, upper body strength, and toning the stomach.
But the best ip of all is to practice! Try practicing with a buddy as well!
These tips will really help you in the game! Good Luck! ;)

Ok, well first you should try the basics:
-Dribbling (make sure that you can dribble the ball with you right, left, and alternating hands)
-Passing (grab a friend that is good at basketball and ask them to help with passing or throw a basketball at an outside wall or gym wall and let it bounce back at you)
-Shooting (shooting is very important but all that you need to do to improve your shooting skills is to try shooting from different spots and dont move on until you have made the shot. then go back when your done and have a goal: like to make at least 3, or at least 4 shots, or maybe it is to make them all!)
Then maybe you should try some harder skills:
-Jumpstops
-Dribbling through your legs
-3 pointers
-free throws
One skill that I had lots of trouble on before I became a good basketball player was lay-ins or some people say lay-ups. My coach told me that in order for me to have a water break, I needed to make five lay-ins correctly. So how was correctly? I had always done them by stopping on a line near the hoop and shooting it. But that wasnt right. It was right when I was younger. It took me a while to figure out how to do them "correctly." All you do is position yourself on the free throw line but out so you diaginal with the hoop. Take one dribble by forcing the ball out in front of you, and following up with a shot. My problem was that I stopped everytime I was going to shoot a lay-in. I learned that that was a big NO! Just be sure that you only take one dribble to the hoop, then (if you are doing a right hand lay-in) you need to check to see that when you are shooting it that your right leg needs to go up (as if you leg was attached to a string on you right arm.) When you are doing a right handed lay-in then lift up your right leg when you shoot. But if you are doing a left handed lay-in then make sure that you are lifting up your left leg. After you shoot see where you are landing. Is it behind the hoop, or before if? You should end up behind it because if you watch pro-basketball players-they dont stop to shoot a lay-in, they keep on going even if they go past the hoop. Lay-ins are the most important shooting skill that you can improve on. Something to think about: If you dont make your lay-in in a real basketball game-THAT IS EMBARRASSING-trust me. They may look simple and they may be for some, but not until you know how to do them the right way.
Make sure that you are in shape and have stretched before you practice because that will make it easier. I hope that you will use these tips wisely because they really will help. There is always something to improve on; so dont be to hard on yourself-the key to success is PRACTICE!

one million. The BBall segment is Infested with Kobe jockers get them out of there. two. Some folks make like 10 bills and check out to get facets and cheat or whatever, what does having plenty of facets imply, it does not make you higher than any one else! three. and ultimately get the entire folks off right here who do not even play bball, the sofa potatoes/nerds who've not ever picked up a ball earlier than, this segment is approximately basketball and gambling it, no longer admiring it.

to play ball, you need to be able to score, defend, and have stamina. scoring: passing, shooting, being able to do a layup on both hands. For defense, when the attacker strikes, mirror hos movement s, if he goes forward, you gp back, you main focus is to pressure him. Having stamina is the most inportant, if you don't have it, it woukd effect your game and defense
