This happened to me last year. First of all, you should be proud that you stood up for yourself and quit. Noone deserves to be treated badly by ANYONE else, anywhere, work, home, whatever. Life is hard enough without having to deal with something like that. You decided that your self-respect is worth more than a paycheck. Not many people are brave enough to do that.
Don't worry too much - take it one day at a time. MOST IMPORTANT: Use the time you would have been at work to look for work. Make looking for work your new job. Right now, go to the phone book and look up a lot of temp agencies. Make a list, call them all right now and set up appointments for next week. Then, try to enjoy your weekend. If you need to spruce up your resume or anything, take some time to do that this weekend, but try not to stress too much.
Tell all of your friends you are looking for work - you never know what might come up.
If by the end of next week none of the many temp agencies you have visited have anything for you, go to the mall and put in applications everywhere. I assume the idea is to keep an income coming in first and foremost; this will buy you time to find a job you really like with a decent boss.
You WILL get through this... but I definitely know that "Oh my God, what have I done?!" feeling....hang in there & good luck!

I was in the same situation as you and I had a boss that though of me as a piece of crap on a weekly basis (he did it on Sundays) & I quit without a job. Hopefully you registered with more then one agency because you just mentioned agency( singular) and it has to be more then one that will find you work. Keep calling. something is bound to turn up. I hope that you have evidence that your boss harassed you or else you won't be able to collect unemployment without a strong case against your former employer. He/she might tell a different story to the unemployment office.

Start looking for a job everywhere. I'm in college and I'm trying to find something for when I graduate in Dec. I've looked in Newspapers and answered some adds, but I found I get the best feedback from websites. Try going to careerbuilder.com and see whats listed in your area. I've gotten tons of call backs from applying to jobs this way.

Try to get unemployment while you look for a new job. Even though you quit, if you have a strong enough case that he was harrassing you, you may get the benefit anyways.
Getting to the unemployment office will also give you resources to find a new job.
