In my opinion, a laptop is better. It's portable so if need be you can bring it to a friends dorm, library, outside (if you want a different eviornment to study in). You can even do work in the car or on an airplane with a laptop. Also, you have a lot more space in the room with a laptop. You can unplug it if you want more desk space. My friend has a desk top and she has to do all her work that doesn't require typing on her bed because she has no desk space.

I do not know much about gaming, but I do know that laptops are better for college. A lot of colleges are now wireless campuses, so a laptop comes in handy! I have a desktop (which I love so much) but there are many, many times when I wish that I had a laptop. You should also check with your school and make sure that you are able to have a desktop (without a laptop) because I have heard of many colleges making laptops a requirement.

I would suggest better go for a Laptop as they are portable & its like Personal PC but rember one ting before buying Laptop do check the Battery Backup as that is More Important & also think about the Cost of the Laptop. Always buy the Best Laptop with latest Specification & never go for a Second hand Laptop ...

It truely depends on what your intended use is. AND BE REALISTIC. Will you really be needing a pc on the go? Or can you simply use the computor labs at school and finish up with your desktop at home. KEEP IN MIND you will be getting a whole lot more ''bang'' for your buck with a desktop. Or will you sacrifice the extra money and strength for portability and space. Most people end up setting their laptops on a computor desk at home and never take it anywhere anyway, but again it's up to you.

two years ago, desktops were the way to go. they had a lot more power, a lot more capabilities and were a lot cheaper. that's no longer the case in my opinion. i'm seeing damn fine laptops on the market for 5 or 6 hundred bucks, and they will do anything a desktop will do.

For young college kids a desktop would be better. More rugged and does not "accidentally" get left somewhere. Not easily stolen. Here's a question you need to ask yourself. Do you REALLY NEED to have a computer everywhere you go? Are you THAT attached to the internet?

Laptop. You'll have lots of projects, group work, etc. You'll want to have something you can take with you when needed. I really love laptops. Just be sure to buy a printer you can hook it up to.

Go with a laptop. You can bring it to class and take notes, or if you need to go home and do your work, you can just bring it with you. I suggest the Apple MacBook. Go to www.apple.com for more details. It's great for students! You can even put Microsoft Windows on it!

laptop. its portable, doesn't take up any space, you can take it to class. You can lock it up in a safe place when you don't need to use it. and its easier to schlep back and forth from home and school.
