My wife and i are expecting in Jan 07 and are using a Midwife instead of hospital. We are going to try non-vaccinations and want to bypass the Vitamin K shot but we are concerned about how circumsion will affect this and how long after birth should we wait to do this procedure? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

The sooner the better. I would start looking into pediatricians that you would like to use they will most likely be the one doing the procedure.I would ask them when it should be done, they would know better than me. My son had his the day after he was born, but I did not bypass the vitamin K so I do not know how big of a difference it makes.

Start interviewing pediatricians and make that a question you ask about. It is good to start early because you do not know how long it will take for you to find one you like.

I found my pediatrician because she was the one on call at the hospital for my delivery. My sister on the other hand went through about 15 till she found one she liked, so take your time and take notes. Find one that is going to respect your wishes and not try to fight you on them.

Why would you not protect your child from disease but get him circumsized...Vitamin K shots?? They are not required for a circumcision. I had my son done and there was no vitamin K involved. They say the earlier the better to have them done. My son ws done at 12 days. You need to get your child vaccinated...they could die from some of these diseases...give your head a shake

Vitamin K is given to thicken the blood and make it coagulate faster... It's best not to skip this step... The child could possibly bleed out and die if it's blood is to thin... It's a safety precaution...

If you're not Jewish, why are you even thinking about circumsion?

And if you are Jewish then you already know the best day to do it is on the 3rd day or is it the 8th day, whenever God said so.

I am FOR the use of all vacinations I would hope that you just give in and get them done. I think if you are concerened enough to ask this question then you might know that you need the shot. get it and do things right.

Why won't you vaccinate your kid? I don't understand parents who won't do something that is good for their child. But yet you'll go hack his foreskin off...doesn't make sense to me.
