I love art. I could have spent all day answering this question but I won't. I only chose some of the most famous modern artists, that are each very diverse.

Pick up "The Modern Art Book." It lists scores of 20th c. artists with examples of their work and breif bios. You might like Magritte, Miro, Rothko... it just depends on what you're into. None of them is like Warhol, but they're all, as you say, "unique and modern."
