Since cell size is limited by the necessary surface area to volume ratio, the cells in infants are the same size as in adults. Same applies across the animal kingdom, as elephant and whale cells for instance are the same size as cells from mice, worms etc. Adults are larger due to a larger number of cell, but they do not just go on dividing forever. The genetic information sets a maximum range of size for a particular species, and once it is reached, cells stop dividing. Cancer cells lose the contact inhibition on division, and as such can continue to divide when they should not.

Infants are born with about 50 trillion cells. An average adult is made up of about 75-100 trillion cells. Amazingly, the human brain contains about 100 billion nerve cells, of which each person is born with.

Since adults have lived longer their cells have multiplied more than an infant. Just like an infant has more cells than an embryo.

Infants cells are the same size as adults, but they have fewer in number. You have more cells in quantity as an adult than a child. that is how you grew in your mother's womb from a single celled fertilized egg to a fetus.
