This may sound silly to some of you but, I have found my son humping the bed on a numerous amount of occasions, it really confuses me as to why he does it, is it that it feels good for him? is it something sexual that he is doing? does he even know why? i used to tell him no dont do that thats gross, but now if i know he is doing that i kind of just make anoise before i enter the room or i will pretend i dont see him doing that, but stops immediatly if he knows im there or if he hears me coming, so i think maybe he knows its something "sexual" i really dont know, and i dont know what to make of this. Is this normal behaviour for a 6 year old boy, how do i spproach this... should i talk to a doctor someone please help, i find myself frustrated and a little grossed out by this!!

"urashortie" For your information, i don't believe in hiding things from my son or my children, when my child ask's me something, im not going to lie about it and tell him a big bird flys in from the sky and brings you your baby brother, he wanted to know how i have a baby in my stomach right now, and i'm not going to lie to him. If you have a problem with being honest with your children that fine by me, your children will be the ones that are being taught by my children on what its all about. I dont believe he is too young at all, If your curious enought to ask the question then your old enough to know the CORRECT answer... im sorry you disagree with the way i do things, but i really don't care what you think... As long as my son has questions for me i will answer them and honestly.... Now how about answering the initial question, THANKS EVER SO MUCH!! ~CHEERS!!~

"Jtawsgirl" I don't think im being immature about anything, i think i am being a concerned parent, i told him it was gross, because i am uncomfortable with it he is ONLY SIX years old, which is the only reason i would say that to him, you know, maybe thinking he might stop... but I think the circumstances are a little different between me and my son, im much older then 6 years old my dear OVIOUSLY i've had sex before if i've had a son DUMBASS good observation on your part!!! I think you might need to grow up a little before you start answering questions like this, when you dont even know what your talking about!! CHEERS!

I think that's normal. He might not know what he's doing, but he knows that it feels good to him. I remember knowing things were sexual at that age, I didn't totally understand it, but I knew that it was some kind of "sex". I think around 7 or 8 my friends and I would talk about sex, and we understood what it was. I remember around that age (around 6), getting "pleasure feelings" if I moved the right way on my bed. I didn't know what I was doing though, but it felt good and I used to do it on occassion.
I think I would be grossed out too if my son was doing that, but maybe its about time you explained what sex is and all of that good stuff. No use hiding it from him, I think he's already discovering what it is now.

i remember when i was young, i like jerkin around my "happy place". It wasn't anything sexual, i just enjoyed. I did'nt even know what the thing was for, so i found a use for it.
Your son may get some sexual pleasure from humping the couch, but i doubt that he knows it's sexual. The only reason he stops when you walk in the room is because you always tell him to stop when you see him doing it, so he figures that you will get mad.

Yes humping his bed in undies or not is very normal.
All kids have the need to hump is bed so leave him alone.

Jeez lady. Let it go. If he wants to hump the bed let him. You obviously know nothing about male sexuality. Why do you even ask this question? Do you know how embarrased your son would be if he knew you were asking a question like this on the Internet for everyone to read?

Every child does this.
I did this.
And trust me, it's normal to be worried.
Every parent is.
But he probably doesn't think of it being sexual. He just thinks it feels good. That's what most children say and think.
It'll pass, I promise you.
For now, anyway...until he is a teenager.

I think 6 years is too young for this. May be he is just experimenting. I think you should consult a doctor. Although I'm saying this, the following site says that boys can feel sex any time of there life. Check the following..........

Yes it is very normal
maybe it feels good or is stress out
Leave him alone when he is doing it
even if his undies are on or off it still does not matter leave alone

This is totally normal. He's doing it for a couple of reasons--the first being it feels good and also some children do it to soothe themselves. Don't teach him to be ashamed--just that it is private and he needs to do it when he is alone in his room.

oh never tell your child its inapropriate or gross.... god doing stuff like that as a little kid is so normal... its exciting for them, they think it feels good and its comforting to them... it makes me sick when a child gets nervous and grabs themselves and the mom turns around and slaps their hand away and tells them that what they're doing is gross and sick and not to do it... those poor children grow up to be so insecure...... he likes to do it cus it feels good... hes stopping it when he hears you cus he knows you think its gross cus you told him that remember??
anyways let him do what hes comfortable with doing... hes not hurting himself or anybody so why get frustrated about it? btw... uhhm you've obviously had sex since you have a son and all and because of that it suprises me that you think its gross... sounds like someone needs to stop being immature
