I couldn't stand him when he was on Oprah, and I LOVE him now. His show is really interesting. I watched it so much my baby learned the sound of his voice....
I dont' watch it everyday, Only when it looks really interesting. I like it, though. I also like when he goes back and looks at families a second time, to see how they are doing.

Hate is so strong - and yes, as your answerer said, so appropriate.
He is an overbearing blowhard who apparently lost his licence to practice medicine in Texas because of an affair with a patient;
He claims to present both sides of the issue fairly - the 3-parter on the father supposedly molesting his daughter gave the lie to that;
Many of his practices are Gestapo-like: who remembers Amanda and her cellphone? first he had her stalked and returned against her will to Ca, then watched approvingly as first the mother and then the sister went INTO THE SHOWER where Amanda was supposedly talking - do you want someone to come into the shower while you are there? even if you aren't nude?
He uses histrionics every bit as adeptly as JERRY SPRINGER.
That's who he is - the middle class's Jerry Springer

I liked him at first. He seemed to give good, practical advice.
Over the last few years (I guess since he got his own show), I have started to dislike him.
He often gets into medical issues that, while he might know something about, is not qualified (in my opinion) to deal with.
He has gone from being helpful to sometimes being sensational.

My answer will be qualified. I respect him and his credentials, and really liked when he was on Oprah, and when he first had his own show. However, as of late, he has been really going out for the sensationalism, and I think that detracts from what he set out to do, and damages his integrity.

He's honest (which is the best policy), but he can be quite harsh at times. Overall, he's a good psychiatrist, but I personally think he could be a little more compassionate in his practice.

Hate him! he creeps me out. He's a bully and he doesn't listen.
(I bet a lot of people think he's ok when they agree with what he's doing. What about when you don't ?)
