It would be helpful if your question was a bit more specific about what you required the information for.
If you're looking for job/employment prospects in Nigeria, the major areas [expertise, compensation, corporate governance and controls] would be the Oil industry [mostly multinationals such as Shell, Chevron, Exxon, ConocoPhillips], Telecommunications [MTN, Celtel, Globacom] and Banking [Standard Chartered, GT Bank, Zenith, First Bank, UBA].
If you're looking to buy stock for portfolio investments, you cannot go wrong with the banks, especially the ones listed above [Zenith, First Bank, GT Bank, UBA]. Your ROI will be beyond your imagination and is well above the rate of returns in most developed economies. (I'm not sure why that is the case though.)
If you're looking to go into active business, then, depending on your net worth, you may want to look at the banks, smaller telecoms firms that provide fixed wireless access services or franchised retail outlets for telecoms or the fast foods industry. Fast foods are a very big business and there's always room for new entrants.
There's a lot of money to be made in Nigeria. Unfortunately, things do not work with the regularity that Westerners generally expect or are used to. Nevertheless, there is a lot to be said about business prospects in a semi-regulated system.
