Should such punishment should be reserved for adults who misbehave?

oh no if that parent needs to spank there child if they deserve it then , so be it , but as an adult well they also need spankings if they deserve it then so be it to ............

There is a fine line these days when it comes to spanking your own children. These days all they have to do is pick up the phone and cry abuse...
You can however call your local Juvenille Justice Department and ask I an officer can come to your house or you can bring the child to their office to witness the spanking/paddling.
Sorry for those that believe "NOW DON"T YOU DO THAT AGAIN" 10 times is gonna work or help!

There is a place for spanking. Usually time outs and taking priviledges away will work just fine. However, and I've answered this question before. If my little child runs out into traffic, I'll spank them. They are too young to understand from a simple time out and explaining, "If you run out into traffic, you could get killed." They WILL understand a spanking and, "Don't run from mommy out into the street." means, "I better not run away from mommy or I will get a spanking."

When the spanking stopped the children got worse.

A good spanking is what most of these children need now of days. So I am all for it.

This is not a way to solve these family problems. Violence never solves anything. Parent's job is to teach them right from wrong, to love them, to feed them, to be there when they are in need. There are other ways to punish them without violence. Simply take the things they like or cherish the most and take it away from them on a limited time of course. Some times if you can't do this, you can also give them a time out or most commonly called to "ground" them.

YES CHILDREN SHOULD BE SPANKED IF ALL PARENTS RAISED THERE KIDS LIKE THEY WHERE RAISED WE WOULD NOT HAVE SO MANY KIDS GOING TO JAIL.THERE NEEDS TO BE DICIPLINE AND SPANKINGS WORK.BUT THERE IS A DIFFERENCE IN SPANKINGS AND BEATING AND SOMETIMES PEOPLE GET CARRIED AWAY IF YOU CANT CONTROL THE DIFFERENCE THEN NO THEY DONT NEED TO PUT THERE HANDS ON ANY ONE.

i think spanking is good for children at a young age cuz it teaches them obedience...
