think it's worth having. I hear that they are low priced.
And I guess a cam would go on my laptop: Acer Aspire 3000
I'm just learning about such things, like would it simply attach with it's cable to on of the ports on the computer

Yes i do think it is a good idea to have a web cam. i got 1 for 50$ and it can by used as a mic too. i can see my friends when i talk to them( they dont take up that much space and they r not that expansive.)

webcam if you view a webcam you open a port to ur pc . da person on on other end has full access to ur pc same thing if you have webcam and other person view ur cam they get full access to ur pc from that that can do some real bad things to ur pc. and ur not see it happen .but when ur mouse icon move by its self then ur know something is not right .webcams are low priced.now and will work on ur pc

Buy a logitech one... its fast and reliable, cheap as well. and when u buy one just load the cd that comes with and and install the drivers and plug in the cam and there you go...

yes they are pretty cheap. and it all depends on if you need one or not.if you have someone to watch it or not.i have one hardly ever use it.only use for self photos for comp.and to send talking video to family.you decide.
