I know stupid loves to parade around and show the world its narrow mindedness, but because haters are dangerous evil people who are also violent, gay people show caution. Do not mistake caution for weakness or fear, its just a sense of self preservation.

Meanwhile you keep on parading around your ignorance, because its easier to identify the a**holes not to waste time on.

I think everyone answered your so called question, but just to add a note to your additional comment, the battle is lost for your type when you think it necessary to come in gay forums to grandstand. You actually strengthen gay resolve, not deter. Do you really think your foolishness does you or anyone of your ilk any good? If you do, then you are a bigger fool than even I imagined.

I personally think your type are good for the gay community, you remind us that we should not let our guard down til the last of your ilk finally gets it. The times are changing those that don't change with them will be swept away with the rest of the trash.

It IS natural and it IS right and normal and decent.

Many gays keep their lives private because they are private people. There is also the bias that can cause someone to lose a job, promotion etc.

As a VERY straight acting (I hate this term) gay man in America and retired US Marine. I can tell you that you might be surprised how many gays you interact with on a daily/weekly basis and you do not know that they are gay.

I am not hiding. I am probably sitting in the cube/office next to you at work ;)

It comes down to this. When we come out we are in danger of being disowned by our family and friends, being kicked out of our homes, loosing everything we love. On top of that we know that we stigmatized by society, we run a risk of being beaten in the street, being fired from our jobs, and loosing everything that we hold dear. Grandted there are now laws in some states that protect us from some of the above, but that is a lot to loose no matter what. That's why it is so hard to come out.

Uhhhhhhh .... people like you ! But of course I'm not hiding. I'm at work right now. I drove in taffic today .... broad daylight even.

I don't find myself living an error. I have an education, a wonderful paying job (most likely more than you), I have a home, 3 cars, a boat and a guy who deeply loves me for who I am ... human.

Why don't bigot's understand the error they're living?

*** you say you don't hate us? ..... you're not very convincing. You think we're living a life of error? Come on now Bubba, you can't change us. There is no "light" to be seen, we are who we are and their isn't a damn thing you can do about it. ***

you need to understand that you are the one in error. yes, there are some of us who "hide"...but it's usually due to attitudes like yours. when hateful bigots raise their children to hate, and teach them that being "different" is wrong and something to be ashamed of, would you feel you had to hide? I don't hide at all, and neither does my partner. we are out to family, friends and coworkers and accepted by them all. there is nothing "wrong" with us, and we ARE normal and decent. what is abnormal and indecent is hatred and intolerance.
explain to us why you have such a problem with gays and lesbians?

People hide because they don't want their families to throw them out, their friends to look at them differently, their rights taken away. Most are brought up to believe it is wrong, and it is only recently that people are learning better.

But tell me, would you be willing to share the details of your sex life? What would you define as natural and right? What about S&M? Many heterosexual people are into that. Would you like to come out and admit to the world that you did that sort of stuff? Why is it your bussiness in the first place? People love who they love and that's all that matters. Would you refuse them the right to love?

Ummmm.. because they don't think it is natural and right. They've internalized social stigmas. Never underestimate the power of self-loathing. WHEN they think it is natural and right AND they have the psychological strength to deal with other people who may not agree, THEN they come out. I would think this would be obvious. Especially given the examples of self-hating homos that the GOP has been providing for us in recent months.

The only ones that are hiding now are because of the responses of people like you, those that rant on and on about how "bad" it is and try to get them fired from their jobs, thrown out of their apartments, verbally harass them on the street....
Without things like that, they don't hide.

I'll give you two good reasons - Matthew Shepard and Gwen Aruajo.
Both were killed by bigoted anti-LGBT hate-mongers. There are many, many more people who have died as a result of people preaching hatred, bigotry, discrimination and therefore violence against us.

Please stop posting such hate-filled questions and fueling the fires of discrimination.
