I always thought the same. I know Many minors who would like to earn a few bucks during the summer. I usually give them a few odd jobs around the house and sometimes they get a few yards to mow. This what I did to make money until I turned 16 and could work legally.

It may be because, they are not old enough to think straight. Let me ask you. If you are an adult? would you buy something like a television from a minor? or would you buy an insurance or a real estate from a minor?

Plenty of minors can get jobs.
There are certain things minors can't do, such as sell/pour liquor or strip.
