US News (see link below) ranks it in the third tier and says it is "more selective."

In general, Third Tier schools are decent universities that are easier to get into than the first or second best public university in the state. For example, UNC and NC State are ranked highly -- but UNC Greensboro and East Carolina are third tier schools. Being further down the food chain, they are easier to get into.

These schools are in the bottom half of their category -- but it is the best category -- so they are probably comparable to the better regional schools.

Don't waste your time with LSU. Just go camping, hunt your own food, and don't boil the water before you drink it. You'll come out of that weekend with a heck of a lot more knowledge than 4 years in Louisiana. ; )

How hard could it be? It's Louisiana! It's a State university!

Kidding. Check their website for admission requirements, and your library should have books about college admissions that talk about proportions of applicants admitted, etc.

It's a lot easier now that you don't have to row a boat onto campus.
