I've tried earthlink (one of the most expensive) and mailaka (one of the lesser expensive) and neither is best or cheapest. Consumer Reports I think liked juno and copper.

All I can say is, get one email address (like yer yahoo) and stick with it, then get an isp and *forward* its email to your yahoo email in case, someday, you change isp, so you don't have to notify all your friends of a new email address!

Some dial up companies are under $10, but no, they wouldn't be the best because they're dial up. DSL and cable are much faster than dial up.
