Why does everyone think lobsters are red?

I mean, they're only red when you cook them. I even saw a blue one once.

Most people are only familiar with lobsters after they have been cooked. imagine living in the midwest all your life and never seeing the ocean little yet a lobster living in it. And dont assume that EVERYONE thinks they are red. im sure there are quite a few people out there who are aware that lobsters come in other colors such as blue

The only place most people see lobsters, crabs, and shrimp is on their plate, and they are pink or red at that time, so they assume that is the natural color. Even though their hamburger changes color when they cook it.

we usually see them either cooked or drawn as a logo for a sea food restaurant (Red Lobster)
