The song was actually written by a very young Mozart. So there. Ner.

It's a catchy tune. I guess the Alphabet people and the Twinkle Twinkle people both wanted to take adavantage of it.
The Barney Song (I love you, you love me) and Knick Knack Paddywack have the same tune too.

There's actually a couple more songs that have the same tune as well. My daughter's kindergarten class did a short musical around this. I can't remember the other ones though. Sorry.

Because little kids are not that bright and it is just easier if the two songs they are expected to know have the same tune.

Yeah - talk about being cheated, try singing Manic Monday (by The Bangles) and 1999 (by Prince). Both songs were written by Prince, but I think he struggled to come up with a new melody for the second one!

HEYY i just noticed that...lol..i was singing it in my head..anyway i think it is beacause they want little kids not to get confused with all the educational songs....like abc's r very important to every kid so i guess if u had a differnt tune for every song little people would get a lil congused

It purely jogged my memory of ways my daughter could sing "Twinkle twinkle little celeb" She could bypass: Twinkle Twinkle little celeb how i ask your self what you're. Up up up up up up above the international so severe? Ha Ha? She could consistently get caught on "Up"? Too humorous?

because it was easy to sing it along with the keys on a piano...and basic songs are easy to remember....remember it is children that learn the songs so repeating the same melody helps in memory retention
