I suppose the problem may be the Fram filter. Years ago Fram oil filters had a reputation of being one of the highest quality filters but they have certainly lost that reputation in recent years and now they have a reputation for being one of the lowest quality oil filters and one of the worst. I suppose it is possible that the filter element may have collapsed and that bits of the oil filter element is now in the oil system. I am aware of reports of that happening. If I was you I would not take a chance on clogging an oil channel and I would change that oil again and use a better filter, maybe a WIX, Purolator Pure One, or Mobile 1 oil filter. And although 5W30 motor oil is recommended you can be sure that 10W30 will not be a problem. The 10W30 may register a very slightly higher oil pressure than 5W30 while the engine is running cold but I doubt that it would be enough that you would notice it on a dash type oil gauge because it would only be a couple pounds of additional pressure.

That old an engine, most people would go with 10/30 instead of 5/30.
