There are a lot of reasons why your period can be late. Only one of them involves you being pregnant. Particularly if you are young (as you seem to be if your mom is ordering medical tests for you), perfectly regular cycles are not the norm. If you have had two negative HPTs two weeks after your missed period, it's REALLY unlikely that you're pregnant. (You will undoubtedly hear otherwise... Yahoo Answers seems to have a lot more women who menstruate and/or have negative hpt's until the baby is born than the rest of the population.)

So try to relax until your appointment. Take HPTs 1x/week, making sure to follow the directions exactly... the later you are, the more accurate they are. If your period starts before the 28th, you still may want to go in for your appointment. The doctor can help you avoid future pregnancy scares.

Ask your doctor to check your thyroid when you have your appointment on the 28th. Until then, if you're not in pain, relax until your appointment. The smartest thing is that you're going to the doctor. Some women let problems fix themselves and then the problem gets out of control. You're doing the right thing. I hope your appointment goes well. Hang in there.

Your period can stop when we're under alot of stress. The fact you're stressing yourself out can cause your period to be late. If all the tests were negative, then just relax. It'll come sooner or later.

You might have just skipped a month. Sometimes that happens for no good reason, sometimes it's stress. I know it can be frustrating, but I wouldn't worry about it yet. If you go another month or two without your period, then I would worry.
